I have been working at Sprint

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, you can spend your time on the road and you get to meet some interesting people

    Cons

A failing company with a broken network. Managment denies any of these issues and always talks about continued network investment. Terrible commision structure with aggresswive decelerator leads to small or no payouts. Company is charges you back for sales you were never paid on. Poisionous. Management that has little to know knowledge beyond blaming everyone but themselves for failure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a better look at what your low level managers are doing and be honest about network problems.

    I worked at Sprint

    Pros

The hours can be flexible depending upon the shift you bid for. Some days can be slow, while others are hot. You get to play with neat gadgets before the general public does. The company has good benefits.

    Cons

This review only relates to working in the specific Sprint Nextel Call Center I was in, and not to the corporation as a whole.

Sprint gives only lip service to real customer satisfaction. Management's theory of customer satisfaction goes like this: if the customers aren't calling back on thier issues, or the general volume is going down each month, then our customer satisfaction is increasing. Of course, that doesn't take into account that customers have given up on getting satisfaction of their issue and have stopped calling. But hey, the numbers look good to J.D. Powers & Associates, Sprint can brag about it, and the execs get bumps in pay! Everyone is a winner, eh?

They also have the highest employee turnover rate I've ever witnessed in a company. Of the 32 people that were in inital training with me, only 3 were still there after 2 years. The company is metric driven and if you don't meet the metrics, it's a warning and out. It wasn't uncommon to see 30-40 new hires every month.

If you care about doing what's right by the customer, this isn't a place to work--unless you need the income.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Survey your customers about what they like and don't like about your company. Institute REAL change to address those issues. Stop using bogus data to say you're the best. Treat your employees as partners who want the company to win. Change your culture.
