Good experience overall but finally got caught in annual layoffs.

Pros

Good work/life balance, decent pay, not all the way there yet but making improvements in the culture, which was broken after the merger with Nextel.

Cons

Limited opportunity for advancement in company, good old-boy network (either you're in or you're out), annual layoffs make for a culture that is concerned about keeping job instead of improving the business.

Advice to Management

Need to provide an atmosphere where people aren't worried about the next round of layoffs and instead focus on improving the business.

    Customers can be unreasonable with their requests and are sometimes downright NASTY!!

    Offer more incentives to stay with company by having more opportunity for growth

    limited career opportunities for advancement, HR policies on salary and promotion are too rigid to effectively motivate and award employees for extraordinary performance.

    Develop stronger career paths for current employees- encourage and reward certifications and advanced education.
