I have been working at Sprint

Pros

The benefits for a company working just as a retail consultant are great. The health benefits are awesome. Work here if you want an entry level point for sales.

Cons

The company has been around for quite a few years, there is a strong top down management style, where decisions up from up top don't seem to make sense sometimes. The company is in financial trouble, so the company is cutting back on a lot of perks. They got rid of the educational benefits, and 401K plan, so can be a downside in the future as the company goes forward. Pay is a little lower than the other 3 big carriers.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees, try to work with them when making decisions for the company as whole. The top down management structure is a thing of the past.

    Pros

While working at Sprint Nextel you will always be able to work with the latest technology that is currently available.

    Cons

When working at Sprint Nextel, at times you get the feeling that everything is always rush rush rush to get a new product to the customer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Sprint

    Pros

    # 3 Wireless company with 49,000,000 customer base.
    Generous training program.
    Historically good Benefits program.
Excellent products and Voice and Data coverage.
Stated support for reductions in offshore customer support locations.

    Cons

Poor Top management decisions - Nextel purchase and dismantle, Virgin Mobile purchase plans.
Discontinuance of retirement, 401k Plans. Reduction of Stock purchase plans and delay of performance bonus disbursements. Draconian and opressive micro management of line staff. Poor selection processes for Coaches and Supervisors. Poor utilization of staff with wide swings in short and over staff. Substantial layoffs in some divisions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on your strengths - Loyal and committed employees, Excellent brand. Legacy and repeat customers. Flexibility of a smaller more nimble organization (vs. the Bell brands). Stop trying to be all things to all people at no extra charge (equipment partners should tech/customer support their products, systems and software at their expense)
