Pros

Great company to learn how different departments work together.

The management and structure of company is very old fashion and needs to be restructured. Employee to employee and management communication needs to be more open.

Restructure employee communication.

I worked at St. John Knits full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I loved the lasting relationships I built with my clients, all of which I still keep in contact with. In my situation, I really appreciated the fact that my boss did not Micro-Manage, and gave us the creative freedom to sell through several different channels... ie.. creating online emails with sale items, taking pictures of the merchandise with our cell phones and sending them out to clients, emailing personalized style pages, cold-calling, and styling customers in the store. Another great perk is obviously the $3,500 wardrobe allotment.

    Cons

Corporate Management does not listen to employees when there is a problem or suggested solution. In my particular situation, my boss did not schedule us equally or think about how to equally weigh our shifts - so we would all get burnt out very easily... working back to back opening/closing shifts or working 9 days in a row..etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take your employees seriously, they are the face of the brand and it is critical that they feel valued and empowered.
