St. Lukes House – “Different every day, challenging but rewarding”
Pros
There are lots of younger people, as you would expect at a non-profit. I have a good time with my co-workers, and the environment is fun. They allow for a flexible schedule if you need it, and supervisors are usually available to quickly answer questions (if not yours, another one). Very friendly people overall.
Cons
Very low pay (as you would expect at a non-profit). Some, but very few opportunities for promotion. Wear and tear to your own personal car, with mileage reimbursement. Clients can sometimes be very frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management
They do "climate surveys" every now and then, but it takes a long time to see any changes. Raise the base pay, and you'll stop losing great staff to better paying jobs after they've worked for a year.
