Pros

Engineering Mentors available in all areas,
Lateral movement available across different businesses,
Stable job.

Cons

Pay is average,
headquarters moved to SU which diluted culture.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure engineers are used to solve problems and not just read manuals. Make sure operations and engineering teams have clear roles and responsibilities, pay your key engineering performers better.

    Pros

    Lots of engineers across the company to learn from and mentor;
    good functional support across businesses
    good communication of company issues and markets.

    Cons

    Aerospace market in severe downturn which puts wages under pressure
    Average wages with some wage freezes impacting long term salaries.
    R&D is a second to production in most areas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Engage engineers to solve more problems versus basic production support; put more responsibilities on floor technicians and production managers.

    Corporate Structure-Some processes have too much red tape and/or too many approvals, resulting in delayed progress.
