I worked at Stanford University full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They have a very helpful career center for postdocs. The career center provides seminars as well as one on one meeting with counselors. The health care benefits are decent. The campus is very pretty, with many outdoor areas. Many options for food on campus.

    Cons

As a postdoc, you are not considered a full employee of the University. Therefore, a postdoc does not receive the same benefits as a full time Stanford employee. There is a fee for parking, and the cheaper options means there is a long walk to most buildings. While the food on campus is good, it is a little expensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are not many career opportunities for postdocs to stay at Stanford.

I worked at Stanford University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of perks-free train and bus transportation from the South Bay (VTA, Caltrain) and SamTrans. Lots of fun and free events and focus on staying healthy. Some sporting events tickets (Stanford games). Some money allotted to use for continuing edcuation classes at Stanford.

    Cons

Little room for growth in salary or rank for positions like this (Unless you get more education). They are also understaffed and disorganized and many studies are a bit chaotic. Plan on juggling more than 10 active studies at once. Little to no training for the position itself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put in place some sort of training procedures for the actual position in order to maintain consistent service to the sponsors/CROs and thus better research quality.
