I have been working at Stanford University full-time (less than a year)

Pros

It pays relatively well for a student compared with other places.
It provides nice study and living environment, good on-campus housing, convenient facilities, etc.

Cons

The students life here is really competitive. A lot of them have to struggle on their own risky project.

I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Beautiful campus.
Time to work out in the day
    Nice people
Ability to take free classes right here on campus
Tons of places to eat on campus
Stanford pays you to not drive to work and will pay for your train-lightrail and bus passes
    Have I mentioned it's a beautiful campus?
Ability to telecommute (some departments, mine included)
Lot's of room to grow your career, learn new skills and apply them

    Cons

For the bay area, you don't earn that much money. In my opinion, that's the only con. Obviously you won't get stock like you could with some other places in the bay area but we are a university, not a tech company.
