    I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Top class education;
    Top people you can network with;
    A lot of resources to use;
    It's also good brandname.

    Cons

    Ph.D takes a long time to finish
    And not necessarily add good transferrable skills.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Freedom in research, relaxed environment, close relationship with hospital to translate your research.

    Cons

    The benefit of a postdoc is not very high, and the length of time is short, you cannot be a postdoc forever. It's based on grant and funding situation and varies different lab.

    Recommends
    Positive Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
