Pros

Community, good and cheap food, trees, no cars allowed on most of Stanford, gorgeous church, love that it was founded by a believer in Jesus, beautiful grounds and most buildings are too, pay was better than average for my industry, benefits better than average, free buses, free caltrain, post office right there, security is pretty good, park off campus and have a lovely walk to work every day without paying for parking too.

Cons

Cutting down too many trees to build more buildings, built in the lovely oak woodland along El Camino Real and that was sad to see, you have to pay to park anywhere on campus even if you work there, hard to get a job there.

    Pros

Annual stipend for training plus free training events throughout the year. Nationally known for great benefits package including: Onsite Fitness programs and olympic level gyms. Matching retirement funds.

    Cons

It is hard to move up within a department. Some employees leave Stanford and then return to move to higher positions. Staff must aggressively search career advancement. Accounting departments are slow to re-imburse out-of-pocket expenses.

  2. Excellent place for a postdoc

    Pros

great climate, great benefits, surrounded by smart people from all over the world

    Cons

Research is challenging; many of the labs constantly push for high quality papers

    Advice to Management

There are a multitude of resources on campus for postdocs; sometimes it's hard to remember which one's are available. Advice would be to make all of the resources at Stanford more available
