I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Community, good and cheap food, trees, no cars allowed on most of Stanford, gorgeous church, love that it was founded by a believer in Jesus, beautiful grounds and most buildings are too, pay was better than average for my industry, benefits better than average, free buses, free caltrain, post office right there, security is pretty good, park off campus and have a lovely walk to work every day without paying for parking too.

    Cons

Cutting down too many trees to build more buildings, built in the lovely oak woodland along El Camino Real and that was sad to see, you have to pay to park anywhere on campus even if you work there, hard to get a job there.

I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some of the best tools and techniques in academia today. Wonderful people from all over the world. Beautiful campus.

    Cons

Too much pressure to continually publish high impact papers. Pay is not equivalent to local biotech companies. Upper management consists of scientists with low level social skills at times.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO
