I have been working at Stanford University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Stanford is full of friendly people who want to be successful. Many people are more entrepreneurial than in other universities. Of course, there's the weather and the proximity to many hiking trails and tourist attractions in the bay. The Stanford name is also useful after graduating.

    Cons

Not many people go to Stanford for its proximity to three major cities: San Francisco, San Jose, and Oakland. Unfortunately I did and found not many like-minded people. In terms of career opportunities, do not depend on the CDC. Though they provide many programs to help find yourself, they were not very helpful in securing a job.
