I have been working at Stanford University full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great research facility, brilliant faculty mentors, excellent research opportunities, and great potential for academic growth.

Cons

Not much contact with non-academic world, postdoc salary is good, but benefits are not great, no work-life balance (typical of any academic position I supposed)

Former Employee - Conference Assistant in Stanford, CA

I worked at Stanford University part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The workload is manageable, the pay is excellent for the area. Responsibilities are reasonable and the goals expected are realistic.

    Cons

The volume of work is directly related to the customer base. If there is a slow season, work becomes repetitive and mundane. If there is a large upswing, overtime may be required and days can be hectic
