I have been working at Stanley Black & Decker full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

history & reputation of the brand, a global leader in the industry, great opportunities to move up in the company, work hard/play hard mentality, employee stock program

    Cons

some negative attitudes are still simmering since the acquisition, also a lot of pressure to hit certain metrics for Wall Street even with the struggling housing market and inflation increases

  2. Helpful (5)

Great place to work until the Stanley merger then it all became about profit.

    Pros

The pay was great but hours were long.

    Cons

Very long hours. Unable to do job thoroughly. Got worse as management tried to squeeze out overhead. Layoffs were norm quarterly. Employees de-emphasized.

    Advice to Management

Understand that employee morale is important. Management acting like they don't care whether you like it or not is disrespectful.
