I worked at Stanley Steemer International full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Met some of my closest friends while working there.

Cons

Everything else. -Constant reduction of pay with hilarious pep talk meetings from a corporate consultant trying to make your horrible paychecks sound like they're a good thing for you. -Draconian methods of forcing people to become robots on the phone that drive your sales numbers down because people hate hearing that on the phone. -North Korea level "happiness seminars" in attempt to make call center employees sound happier to the customer. -Absolutely horrid treatment of long-term employees, including management. If you expect to be promoted or be given a raise in your place of employment, stay away. -Saw a few people who had been with the company for close to a decade with amazing reviews every year get passed over for promotion in the name of an external hire with less qualifications. -Your time is heavily regulated. If you take more than one bathroom break per day you get written up. You're given approximately 7 minutes to do so. Keep in mind that washing your hands takes 3 minutes. You will be asked to keep a countdown timer at your desk to regulate said bathroom break time. -Circulation of employee newsletter with CEO bragging about new island he purchased. Extremely insensitive to the folks making 10 dollars an hour. -Mass Memo sent down to cleaning crews that the management was not to associate with their teams outside of work. This is HIGHLY illegal.

Advice to Management

Anyone with Google can look up your profit margins. They've been dropping steadily since you put major changes in place a few years ago. Maybe you should focus on treating your employees more like they're human beings and not desperate cattle and you'll end up making more money. The abhorrent treatment of your personnel causes them, in turn, to treat the customer poorly. That's why you're losing money. Better pay, better benefits, better overall treatment of your workers will show in your profits when the people who work for you are happier to be at work and you don't have to train 10 new people to replace the old ones every month. High turnover is brutal to a company's profit margin.

I worked at Stanley Steemer International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay used to be good before they restructured the pay scale. Change of scenery everyday.

    Cons

Changed pay schedule to "make us more money" yet when doing the math we were losing $400-$500 a month when compared with the commission percentages for each pay scale. They don't care if your tired, fatigued or if you have a family to take care of, they will send you out to another job even after hours over company policy and threaten to fire you if you refuse. you work from usually 7:00 a.m. until they tell you to stop. no social life except for sundays. so if you have a family, dont plan on seeing them until your days off.

    Advice to Management

Train new managers and get them in place. also pay your employees more.
