Pros

Generally good people. Good benefits

Cons

Only an Engineer has any hope of advancement, whether they deserve it or not. Technologists are third class citizens.

I have been working at Stantec

    Pros

Its a large company so there are options for moving around t he different offices or as they call them, "profit centers".

    Cons

Things can get way too bureaucratic at times. Everyone is forced to take the week between Christmas and New Year's. I just don't like someone telling me when to spend the vacation time I've earned.

    I worked at Stantec

    Pros

Great benefits, travel opportunities, challenging and diverse projects, cares about employee health, allows flexibility with days and specific hours someone wants to work.

    Cons

Underwhelming pay, too much travel to get to where the work is, if you do too well at a certain project you might get stuck doing that specific type of project for months or years, difficult to advance, so much focus on money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow offices to pursue smaller, more local projects that result in less travel for employees. Having to travel 2+ hours in order to get to a project site, then stay there for a week or more at a time is rough. Life on the road is not what the majority of people want.
