I have been working at Staples part-time for more than a year
Pros – Management can be down to earth, flexible schedules, decent benefits for students and part timers.
Cons – Too much work for being an easy tech associate and not enough pay: No incentive to really sell as there are no commissions, driving unrealistic sales goals and constantly having "the talk" despite forcing yourself to be a pushy salesperson, and kissing the ground of almost every customer, typical retail environment.
Advice to Senior Management – What is the point of being an easy tech? I can be a merchandiser and get the same pay rate. How about treating the easy tech right so there would be more moral, more incentive for us to be salespeople rather than just some typical retail associate. Let someone else do the labor because we are supposed to be the brains and drive in the money.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
