ConsToo many changing metrics, not enough rewards for employees, employees have too much out on them to sell and not enough reward at the end of the day.

Advice to Senior ManagementReward and promote and you will get more out of the people who work for you. Acknowledge York people don't just think taking your team for dinner is enough

    The weak spot is the incompetent people promoted to GM and Asst Mgr & the DMs who promote & tolerate them.

    Pros: Part-time employees get benefits (though very limited), which is rare. Staples is a great store… Cons: As with all big companies, esp. retail chains, the corporate offices are filled with overpaid executives, and useless, out-of-touch bureaucrats who sit around thinking up… Advice to Senior Management: Cut out a layer or two of middle management, both on the corporate and field levels. The travelling managers that are left should concentrate… More
