I worked at Staples full-time (more than a year)

Pros

A lot of good managers who are professional and helpful. Pay is about average. Easy commute if you live outside of Boston. Looks great on your resume.

Cons

Some office politics. You may feel like the only time a manager or director notices your work is when a mistake occurs. Some of the software was dated, especially for a F-500 company.
Some co-workers get too comfortable in their current roles and lose ambition (Too many layoffs, not enough promotions) This can lead to attitude and laziness. Paychecks are issued only once per month (learn how to budget)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk your employees about new opportunities and their goals. The standard performance review is too formal and won't help a manager properly gauge an employees strengths and weakneses.

Upper management facilitates with employee opinions
    Okay pay
lots of VTO in the summer
    Lots of advancement opportunity

    Cons

Direct managers don't do their job
    The company is going under
Make ridiculous changes that effect your stats drastically(with little notice)...yet don't reassess said stats for fair representation of work
    Understaffed
    HORRIBLE benefits
Behind in technology to a point where it effects the pace of the work.
CHEAP as all getout. One bathroom was too small. Crappy chairs, tiny desks, shoddily built call center(there was a tornado and that thing rattled like a jeloppy)

Former Employee - Team Manager in Florence, KY

I worked at Staples full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great people, overall good management. I was able to move up from a front line associate to a team manager. My center was closed on weekends so that made it nicer to balance life outside the center and the time you were in the center. HR was usually pretty fair and helpful when called upon.

    Cons

It is cubicle work and no matter what your job title it is repetitive. The rest of the cons are just your average call center issues.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When a rep or someone is struggling have them use another associate to work with them to help them improve.
