Micromanaged to the MAX...your opinion does not matter.

    Pros

Great team of people who really work hard and support you.

    Cons

Senior management and micromanagement by them. They are so focused on tech and small components of the business that they are missing the big picture. They force everyone to be reactionary instead of being able to apply the proactive approach to be professional business managers they talk about...like talking out of both sides of their mouths. I was trained to "major in the majors" and not to "major in the minors". At corporate level, you get messages to manage your business but when it gets down to the RVP & District Mgr. level, it becomes a micromanaged process and your opinion does not matter. Their is a high level of hierarchy in this company where the District Mgrs. and up think they are something special. At meetings, even HR reps don't speak and get to know store level people.

    Advice to Management

If Demos and Ron really mean what they say, then they should hold the senior level managers accountable to how they manage their people. Get rid of the hierarchy where everyone feels open to offering an idea, opinion, and a better way.

    Pros

Great place to work. The people who work at staples are all friendly and like family to me. Have learned a lot about customer service and computers while working there. Expanded my knowledge.

    Cons

Sometimes having to do busy work because it's not always a hopping place.
