There was a great work life balance and great people. They were soliciting employee feedback and appeared to have been listening and reacting

Management was cheap when it came to offering employee benefits

    I worked at Staples part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    A chance to hone and practice skills at sales, customer service and computer repair in that order of priority.

    If the management is dedicated to improvement and understand the needs of the tech it can be a great sales environment.

    Cons

    High minimum sales standards for small markets.
    Broad ill defined responsibilities for Lead Tech (Resident Tech)
    No interest in providing real solutions for computer issues.
    No training and no standards for repair.
    Little apple and no alternate OS support.
    Little to no tech support in mobile devices like IPADs.
    Management might be detached from tech sales because of lack of experience and poorly defined goals.
    Declining importance of Staples in Tech areas due to competition and declining PC usage.
    Tech work here rarely is accepted as IT work in traditional IT environments.
    Most markets only have Part Time employment for Techs and Sales.

    Define Tech apart from sales.
    Hire management with computer knowledge.
    Base goals on market realities.
