I worked at Staples

Pros

Okay benefits and I did not have to work outside of office hours

Cons

Some managers did not know how to effectively communicate without being aggressive. Feedback on positives were rarely given.

I have been working at Staples

    Pros

Then again, this is my first job. From what I've seen, it seems to be difficult to hang on to good employees here, but I guess that's true to an extent for all retail chains. The managers I have are very responsive to the employees and work hard to address any concerns from employees or customers.

    Cons

I only wish the other associates around me would pull more of their own weight. There's an air of laziness amongst them, and I often find myself being the only one doing carry-outs for large items or helping out customers in a sincere way. Maybe it's just my store though. I guess it's still better than Best Buy's employees though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be more pushing on making sales from the top down sans marketing gimmicks. It seems like every level of management distorts the wishes of the corporation. In the end, nothing ever changes other than the signage at most stores. It has to directly affect the associates instead of the managers.
