Pros

people are nice, customers made my day

Cons

upper management doesn't care, they have a attitude of execute the first time, you wear a target on your back, too much pressure in selling performance plans, people don't want poor pay, long hours, no growth.

Advice to Management

walk a day or two in their shoes…….. higher pay, treat people fairly, you will get more out of them. I remember once a DM said oh you will be working 40 hours, a week then you can enjoy your home life, yeah right, 50 to 60 hours a week or more, no breaks no lunches. held accountable for sales

    Pros

Occasionally meet interesting people as customers, other associates can be interesting as well. Other than that it's nothing at all to write home about. It was a much better place to work back in New Jersey

    Cons

Everything. They rely on the easytech department for anything and everything. They don't train or assist well. It's a bad place

    Advice to Management

Treat associates with respect. Work with them

Too much work, too little pay! Crappy insurance.

    Pros

    some great people work there

    Cons

High turn over. Jobs keep getting more and more work and no overtime to do what is needed or extra money. Managers make many employees feel like second class citizens. When you apply for a job HR can decide if they think you have any experience even if they have no clue what your job entails and your resume will never be seen. Horrid insurance, some DR's will not accept our insurance.

    Advice to Management

take a heart check and find out what is really going on. Don't ask in team meetings because no one will speak up! Staples has a soul but no heart to their employees. I have see many layoffs right before Christmas.
