No opinion of CEO

Pros

Fast paced and upbeat. Get to meet a lot of different people and you can talk with a lot of different guests

Cons

The hours can be difficult if you are raising a family. Earning potential might be greater in other fields. Early mornings.

Advice to Management

I do not have much advice for the management. Each store and location is run differently. The job is what it is.

    Pros

Great place to work for the creative-minded, opportunity for advancement with a top company, great benefits, and the community formed in each store creates relationships that last beyond employment with the company.

    Cons

Management of certain districts and stores can go somewhat unchecked, sales pressure can sometimes be unruly. The compensation for years of service can seem a little low, and minimum required hours for partners can occasionally be overlooked by management without any notice from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up with sales goals and increase customer connection within the company. Use a more strenuous method of hiring and training management to ensure comprehension of company policies and procedures.

  2. good place to work, but don't want to stay a barista forever.

    Pros

Startbucks Coffee Company offers a very by the book shift; yes you are on your feet all day but breaks and lunches are allocated in a timely manner consistent with labor laws at all times. Health benefits are given to employees who average 20 hours a week, which very hard to come by other places.

    Cons

Repetition can make the days blur as the same tasks and activities are repeated endlessly. After 6 months I still have not had my supposedly standard three month review. Some aspects of employee benefits seem elusive and employees might be refereed to find it in a computer system at work, not the most direct answer to a question.

    Advice to Management

Please don't push baristas to take their lunch an hour or two into an eight hour shift just to avoid losing workers during peak drive through hours!
