Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'm sure corporate is fine, but they need to do better with store managers and District managers. Better communication would be a good step.

I have been working at Starbucks part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, vacay hours, stock grants, med/dental/vision ins, well run company

    Cons

don't expect to work more 20-30 hours unless you're a manager

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    RECYCLE, PLEASE!!!
Also, I don't deal with this, but Sbux managers are notorious for waiting to bring up "opportunities" until a performance review.... shoddy work, sir.

I have been working at Starbucks part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

An amazingly fun place to work, with great customers most of the time and wonderful coworkers. Pretty good benefits and flexible hours.

    Cons

Corporate bureaucracy really gets to you.
High pressure to sell stupid seasonal products.
The occasional rotten customer can ruin a day.
Too much stuff to do in a day sometimes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remember, we're a coffee shop, first and foremost, and the second that goes to the sidelines for sake of profit or mass-market appeal, we start to lose.
