Fun Job, but Be Prepared to get Dirty

Barista (Former Employee)
Sacramento, CA

I worked at Starbucks part-time for more than a year

ProsFree Pound of Coffee Each Week, Free Beverages While Working, Discounts, Flexible Hours, Decent Tips ($1.50/hr), Customer Relationships, Fun Environment, Good Training, Extra Christmas Discount

ConsHard to get a Steady Schedule (changes every week), Messy Job, Cleaning Drains (blech!), Some Abrasive Shift Supervisors (varies by store)

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Good college or second job.

Shift Supervisor (Current Employee)
Turlock, CA

I have been working at Starbucks part-time for more than 5 years

Pros: As a company, Starbucks treats it partners (employees) well. Paid vacation, retirement, 401K, stock options, full benefits (medical, dental, and vision), are all available… Cons: Too much disconnect from corporate can lead local leadership (store, district, and regional) to lose focus on company values, putting profits… Advice to Senior Management: The partners who work in the stores have good ideas. Don't… Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend More
