I worked at Starbucks part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Get 1 pound of coffee or box of tea for free each week, tips, and leftover pastries/sandwiches (they restock them daily). Fast paced working environment when it is busy - time passes by quickly and it is pretty fun making drinks and interacting with customers.

Hourly wage also increases by $1 every 6 months!

Cons

Not much growth potential. Just a good part-time job for when you're in school or just want to take a break and have a bit of fun while making some money.

I have been working at Starbucks part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits for full-time students holding this position part-time (as long as it's a corporate store and not a licensed store - no benefits if it's a licensed store).

    Cons

Shift managers aren't very qualified and don't have college education, so I've found that they can allow their egos to get in the way of handling certain situations. Furthermore, management tends to forget that almost all of the employees are full-time students and get frustrated when we are unwilling to cover shifts.
