I have been working at Starbucks part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits, opportunity for advancement, review/raise opportunity every six months, stock grants, and tips! A fun place to work, lots of customer connection especially with the regulars who you see day after day.

    Cons

Annoying customers, fast paced and stressful at times, more cleaning than making drinks, a lot of pressure to sell pounds of coffee that people rarely buy. Your experience really depends on how good your shift leads and manager are

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really listen to your partners and consider their opinions on all issues regarding the store. If we ask for more coverage it means we probably need more coverage. If we feel the bar would be more effectively arranged one way, let us do it (as long as we aren't breaking any rules). And most of all just be nice to us. We like that.

I worked at Starbucks part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    My favorite job thus far.
Dynamic workplace that kept you active and moving.
    Excellent benefits, etc.

    Cons

I felt that the pay for a barista was not equal with what was expected of you. I worked in a fairly well trafficked store, so we could do a costumer a minute some hours, keeping one working like mad to try to maintain fluidity. Expecting precision and perfection at that speed, dealing with disgruntled customers, and attempting to accomplish the regular tasks that for the day, tended to feel that it was worth more than just &7.25/hr or $8/hr.
