Pros

Benefits for lowly baristas. Better work environment than any other job that involves food service. Higher pay than other food service. I recommend being a barista at Starbucks while a student, or in between better jobs.

Cons

Hard, thankless work. It's food service, and the cons are all the things that come along with that. And having an inconsistent schedule no more than 2 weeks in advance makes it hard to have a life.

Advice to Management

More consistent schedules for baristas.

    Pros

Work doesn't follow you home, sense of community, benefits, pay, discount on coffee and products.

    Cons

It's a LOT of hard work somedays. Every year they change the way they do things pretty drastically. The dress code is restrictive and sort of ridiculous.

    Advice to Management

Never expect respect by telling, never forget how hard it is to be at the bottom of the ladder.
