Current Employee - Starbucks Store Manager
Current Employee - Starbucks Store Manager

I have been working at Starbucks full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Fast paced, customer focused, partner (employees) focused, great benefits for part-time& full time including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and stock option/stock purchase plans. Hourly partners have flexible, yet consistent schedules

Cons

Baristas starting pay is minimum wage. Shift supervisor pay is on the low side for the amount of responsibilities

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Workout ways to help managers with staffing for partners that call in, quit without notice?

I have been working at Starbucks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

they have a lot of benefits as far as medical, employee discounts, 401K, stock for their veteran employees. Once you are in the system you can work at any corporate store. you get constant interaction with different people all day which keeps it different and interesting and leads to building strong friendships with customers and co-workers.

    Cons

the atmosphere of entitlement starbucks creates for its customers. the customer is always right even when they are 100% wrong. new policies are added constantly often not thinking about the people who have to follow them on a day to day basis making the job not impossible but very demanding for the amount of pay received.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

when making policies please think about the employees having to follow the guidelines, and not how to get the most people in the doors.
