Starbucks was a great place to work; I enjoyed all my fellow employees and the customers we saw every day.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Starbucks offers better pay than most other coffee/fast food places. Benefits are also good, and tips at the store I worked at were usually upwards of $80 a week per partner. The environment is fun and encourages interpersonal relationships.

Cons

Cons were minimal when I worked there, but one may be consistency in procedures -- they changed recipes and procedures for employees pretty frequently.

    Pros

Decent pay, decent tips, work around your schedule

    Cons

Success of the store decides how well your experience is. A careless staff = a bad experience for everyone

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. The people. Much better than many other service sector jobs.

    Cons

Pay is very low. Some stores are busier than others which adds to being overworked and underpaid. Difficult to get hours at times. Also, younger or immature partners have the capability of reducing store morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fight to help increse pay. Give better training. Low pay is a large reason for the high turnover rate.
