I have been working at Starbucks part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Job receives excellent health care and stock options for part time position. Also has a great atmosphere. Job has very flexible hours.

    Cons

The pay leaves everything to be desired. I have a college degree and over 6 years experience and i just broke making $10. Slightly stressful at peak moments of business.

    Advice to Management

Pay me for the hard work i do not what you think i'll settle for.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Dynamic challenges in a fast-paced environment Health benefits Many resources to develop your knowledge and skills as a Starbucks barista (ie coffee mastery, learning ecoSure cleaning standards, etc.)

    Cons

Culture of individual stores depends entirely on the success of the store manager. Constant organizational change in a fast-paced environment is not suited to everyone. In general, food service is underpaid, high-stress, and low on respect and dignity from customers and from upper management. Much of knowledge and skills developed in this position are not generalizable. There's a lot of jobs in similar environments that pay more - look into bartending or waiting tables before you assume that Starbucks will be a good fit.
