No opinion of CEO

Pros

Lots of perks. Free pound of coffee a week, free drinks, 30% off retail (more during holiday season). Fun environment, for the most part. Competitive pay, for being a retail job

Cons

Not much emphasis on career development. Pay raises are based almost entirely off of seniority, as opposed to merit. Very strange hours sometimes.

Advice to Management

Better communication and more emphasis on career development

    Pros

It's one of the more fun jobs I had in college. Free drinks when times are slow makes it pretty fun. The pay is quite good considering how basic the job is. Tips add a significant amount to your pay.

    Cons

Putting on your overly happy face all the time can be tiring. Some customers need to be brought down to earth. Employees can be flaky and a pain in the ass, but the opposite is also true.

    Advice to Management

All seemed well when I was there. It's quite a good place to work for college kids. I would go back if I needed a simple job, but I couldn't stay too long.

  2. If you have patience and great customer service this is a great place to work

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The starting pay is higher than at most places, and they are good at insuring you get your raises when you are suppose to, their is a pride and a connection amongst Starbucks Baristas because you know what it's like to get that rush of people, how to properly call out drinks, and how to please the customers. Also, it is really easy to get promoted.

    Cons

Customers, the regulars and others are AMAZING but there are many that don't have patience and actually make their visit longer by causing problems. I don't know if this is true for other starbucks regions but they kept rotating managers and District managers so every few months I had to change my habits to the way they liked to do stuff

    Advice to Management

Train your staff properly so that they can train new employees, keep consistent among all your employees if you enforce the no nail polish rule, enforce it every time and with all employees
