    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I've been with the company for 10+ years, it's been challenging, but I have learned so much and met the most amazing people. I've been fortunate to work with managers who saw my potential and encouraged me to develop: from barista to shift supervisor to manager myself. Never lose focus on the talent you have around you and the power of your people. Stick to the mission statement and lead with integrity.

I worked at Starbucks part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I met plenty of new and interesting people, I learned new techniques on making drinks, and became a coffee snob. Overall it was a pleasurable experience

    Cons

The greatest challenge was learning all of the new recipes, but after a week or 2 I was able to get them down and became a wiz at the bar.
