I worked at Starbucks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, Free coffee, discounts on merch, 401k, tuition reimbursement. Great opportunity to move up the ladder.

    Cons

Relatively low pay for the work. Most local coffee shop baristas make a lot more than baristas at Starbucks. Some managers schedule weird shifts like 4-6 hr shifts which means if you're trying to work full time you have to work 7 days a week.
    No overtime allowed.

I have been working at Starbucks full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are great benefit plans, and it's enjoyable to see regular customers and interact with them daily.

    Cons

The pay is minimal and I'm not guaranteed the hours I was told I would get when I was hired. My manager is nice when we are not working together, but when she is on the floor working, she is condescending to her employees. Customers are just plain awful, many many of them are rude and treat us like slaves. Opening at 4:30 every morning makes me a grandpa and anti social outside of work so that I can sleep.
