I have been working at Starbucks

Pros

Good advancement opporunity and a company that seems to be moving in the right direction. Would definately work if there were more upward movement.

Cons

It is impossible to balance work and life. You work at starbucks and they pretty much own your life. You make good money but they own your schedule

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offer more encourgement to those who bust their butts for you. More incentive bonuses for working hard would greatly improve morale.

Great job for 1-2 years, not for a serious career. I was thrilled to get out and actually do something positive.

    I worked at Starbucks

    Pros

Free coffee, fun employees, meet lots of people, shifts go by quick, after 3 months its extremely easy, fun competitions

    Cons

Management/Upper management TERRIBLE, pushed up-selling and making money way too much, Felt pressured, Too many changes constantly, Frequent angry customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus AGAIN on employee happiness, not how many pounds of beans we sell. Make a decisions and stick with them.

I have been working at Starbucks

    Pros

Starbucks offers full health benefits for any employee that works at least 20 hours a week.
Partners recieve a review and a raise every six months and the schedules are very flexible.

    Cons

Many customers will treat you as if you are a complete low life because you are serving them coffee. Sometimes you will feel like a janitor because employees are responsible for all the upkeep at the stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The partners at starbucks stores are often treated like worker bees. Somewhere along the way the focus on happy partners disappeared. Better equipment would provide faster service and happier employees.
