I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (more than an year)

Pros

There are good benefits and its a very large company so there is almost an unlimited amount of growth available to you to take advantage of some career opportunities

Cons

There is still limits as to high you can go such as is true with any Job or Career you chose to work to build others dreams and not your own. To make it high in the company would take a long time.

    Pros

The hours are great for someone who is not a morning person or a student. The call center is nice as long as you mind your own business and keep conversations general. The company will allow anyone to move up, all you have to do is be there on time and ready to work.

    Cons

The hourly pay is crap! The bonuses are a joke because the parameters you must meet to get the bonus are like juggling eggs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most of the management is young and are looking to make a bonus check. The peer coaches and team leads do the real coaching and assisting individuals with progression.

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The pay is pretty decent. It is a nice area to work (National Harbor) . If you provide great customer service the customer will sometimes mention you by name in online reviews provided by the company. You are given a monetary reward with each mention. It is a laid back atmosphere when there is down time (And there will be). It is also fairly possible to become a Talent Coach ( Supervisor) If you stay long enough and if upper management likes you (which they will if you are a good worker)

    Cons

There will be times when you will be slammed with phone calls and people at the desk. In these situations you will not be able to provide everybody with prompt service. Some customers even seeing you being slammed will become unruly and nasty. You will also be on your feet all day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

GET SOME CHAIRS FOR THE DESK!
