Former Employee - Sales Associate/Customer Services in Cork (Ireland)

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts part-time (more than a year)

Pros

The benefits and opportunities are great. There is a lot of opportunity for vertical and horizontal movement, so even if you find yourself stuck in a position you don't enjoy, there is ample choices in other departments.

Cons

My supervisor was not very flexible in regards to changing my schedule, so I usually got stuck working during holidays such as Christmas, New Years and other special dates specific to the country where I worked. I know "someone" has to do it, but I wished at the time that a rotation plan was in place, to make it a bit more fair. But again, that was my experience, with my supervisor. Cannot speak for all teams out there.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps offering some snacks or even supplying free coffee / tea would be somewhat nice and generous to the guys on the floor, working on the phones all day long? Somedays they'd run our of water! :)
