Pros

hotel discounts, you meet great people, learn a lot about the world you live in, A great foundation for perfecting customer service skills, amazing co-workers, if you don't rock the boat, you can move up quickly. Some really great customers too. Client kudos don't get overlooked

Cons

The Lancaster CCC is poorly run. Once they got rid of our Director (and a few others) at the start of the recession, things got bad. The lack of care, teamwork and quality of life in general went down the tubes. Some Platinum members are some of the most horrific people alive. Current upper management are too highschool and cliquey. So much drama.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

it's not always about stats (handle time, abandon, compliance...There are a lot of tenure employees who have a PASSION for Starwood. Listen to them. Maybe they are a pain in the butt, maybe they're always late or wear flip-flops in the office..but they really understand the companies core values and value Starwood and it's clients as a whole even more than they do themselves. That dedication will still be there even after you let them go over dumb crap. THEY should be your managers not some 20 year old who just started last month.

    Pros

    High paying salaries for minimal experience. Young company will eventually work out it's growing pains in the long run.

    Cons

    No focus on the individual. Company has a certain "look" that they pursue.

    good benefits, great learning experience, ability to grow, and great peers

    Cons

    some of the management styles are terrible. if you work for a great manager, starwood is a awesome place to work. If you don't, then you'll hate it and leave.

    get rid of managers with low starvoice scores. they're pulling down your company an running off great talent.
