    Pros

Great opportunity to start at the bottom and move up into more lucrative positions.

    Cons

For the first six months you are under constant surveillance. Everything you say is recorded. Every move you make is recorded on a plethora of cameras inside the building.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is nothing less valuable than yesterdays unsold hotel room. Telling employees that the price go's up the closer a customer gets to their dates is just bad training. You can get a way with telling a high school graduate that Starwood has the best rewards systems in the industry but most people over the age of 40 know better.

I worked at Starwood Hotels & Resorts full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Only good thing was working from home. I was a new parent and was able to spend more time with my baby.

    Cons

Micromanaged, pay is too low, metrics are impossible to meet, worst Management staff ever worked for, they are rude, don't allow you to speak, disrespectful, terminated me for asking to speak to HR

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All Management needs training on how to interact with people and actually help them to become successful. Lose the attitude and try to be an actual Leader. Stop looking at employees like numbers and treat them like people.
