I have been working at Starwood Vacation

Pros

Flexible hours... .hot rates to bad you can't do anything with the horrible salary

Cons

minimum wage, dont believe them, doesn't matter how good you are bonuses are a miracle if you get them. But dont worry or count your chickens yet.. the will take it back thru a no-pay...

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find new ways around this economy, Stop living in the past. Vsc are the heart and soul of time share.. Pay them well and you'll have more tours....cant really think of booking a tour when the rent is up and your broke....

    Pros

The opportunity to work on up scale and high profile projects.

    Cons

It's not what you know it's WHO YOU KNOW and who are you willing to suck up to!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When an organization need to restructure or downsize. My advice is to lay-off base on performance. It's sad to see what AVO has become. Where's the culture?

I have been working at Starwood Vacation

    Pros

Cheap hotel stays make this job great. Employees are offered the chance to get rooms at $29/$49/$89 at every Starwood hotel, which makes it great if you like to travel. Most of the employees are very friendly as well.

    Cons

Since the economic downturn, senior management has chosen some "interesting" ways to cope involving mass layoffs that have been fostering a culture of fear. The impression is that if you don't work a 12 hourr day, you're are next on the chopping block.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I understand that cost-cutting is necessary, but explanation and logic as opposed to secrecy and randomness would make Starwood Vacation Ownership a great place to work again.
