This company is incredibly engaged with its employees and I don't want to work anywhere else.

It entirely depends on the agent that you work for as to the experience you will have.

    Pros

It is a great company with excellent products. The policies are top notch quality. There is a lot to be said about a company that can back such good coverage as state farm has especially in homeowners.

    Cons

If you get a greedy agent or one that thinks the world revolves around him you are set up to fail. And don't plan on getting State Farm yourself unless you have perfect credit and record. Even the bank accounts are next to impossible to get.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

State Farm Corporate should take more of an interest in how the agents are treating their employees.

    Pros

Reputable company with good brand name.

    Cons

Nothing but cold calling and data mining.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's hard to advise a company that big, but in my short time there I would say State Farm doesn't hire insurance agents but hire sales people. That's not a bad thing but if you are a client I would definitely suggest asking your agent insurance questions to make sure they know more than sales techniques.
