State Farm is not the same company that it once was, especially in the Claims Department.

I worked at State Farm full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The pay is good, but over the years they have slowly taken away employee perks. Working in Claims does build up many skills like problem resolution, working with conflict, and customer service.

    Cons

Depending on who becomes your Team Leader determines whether or not you are successful in your current job and future career plans. Being a claim representative is a stressful job just in the fact that you are dealing with a large number of people on a daily basis who are upset about being in an accident, being injured, not getting paid what they want, or not getting paid at all. There is lack of support from leadership and if your Team Leader is in a bind you will find yourself looking up underneath the wheels of a bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to remember that employees are people, too.
