Pros

They have awesome benefits, great environment, some managers actually care about you and aren't fake, true move up potential, and overall a great company to work for.

Cons

If you don't pass the licensing test after 2 tries, you are SOL!!! The 2nd chance to take the test is way harder than the first one. After the 2nd chance, most of us failed. Not to scare you, but just being real with you. We had study groups and got a chance everyday to study together at work and even at home and it didn't seem to help. Good luck to all of you on the test if you have to take it.

Advice to Management

The few that are fake, just be yourself. To the others, keep doing what your doing b/c you are awesome!

    Pros

Good company with a long history. Excellent product and support. Unlimited income potential as a salesman. Great people who are very positive and are willing to go above and beyond to help with sales.

    Cons

Hours are long. As a salesman the hours were long and not very flexible. Also in my location the premiums were increased pretty high so sales started getting harder.

    Pros

SF is truly hidden gem. The environment is very friendly, welcoming, and respectful. The work/life balance is outstanding, with most employees working only 40 hour weeks. The company's old slogan, "like a good neighbor", truly epitomizes the culture and values. With the exception of food (ChickFilA, Carribou, Papa Johns, etc) on site, SF has few other amenities. Fortunately, Bloomington is small so things like gyms and day cares are within walking distance or a short drive. Family-friendly area with good schools though has a shortage of things to do and lacks culture.

    Cons

Too many meetings, meetings to talk about meetings, and memos... Lots and lots of memos. Unless you are in one of the few lucky departments, you will likely end up working in a sea of cubes. Most people spend entire careers here, which may result in fewer opportunities for advancement. Job security has been historically high, translating to less productive employees in some areas. Few people work here out of college unless they are married or from the area. Not much to do in Bloomington--chain restaurants abound.
