I have been working at State Farm full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

excellent benefits, PSL, PV, in depth training, annual bonuses (based off of production & quality) company really does care a lot about customer service and strives to make every interaction remarkable, lots of overtime, most managers seem very genuine about results and have an open-door policy.

Cons

unknowledgeable agent staff, company is going through major structural change, drama and rumors as any workplace, pay might not be enough for what some people do in company, training takes too long and is often pushed back to make time for others who have joined company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Although company is in process of huge structural change, processes are not being followed the same in every region throughout the company and is very frustrating as to what is correct or not, the way that productivity is measured is not accurate and are skewed for everyone as some people have other job duties on top of what they normally do.

I worked at State Farm full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The dynamic management team were completely accessible, supportive and consistent with providing training. The company made it easy for employees to succeed, reach goals, be promoted, move around within the company. It also seemed that all my co-workers and support team members were happy with the company.

    Cons

The compensation and benefits were much too low for the amount of work I was doing and the level of responsibility I had. Perhaps to make up for such low pay and benefits, they gave out corporate gifts to employees who reached certain goals, but most of the gifts had no real value.

It is all about who you know... even after 25 years of service

    Pros

    Decent benefits.... but management stinks

    Cons

It all boils down to who you know and if you become "FRIENDS" with your current boss. Management does not review people on their actual performance but on how much you are liked by your current boss. I've had numerous managers over the years and it all comes down to one thing "do they like you", if not your career is in big trouble.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rate people on their performance, not on how much your friendship means!
