I worked at State Industrial Products

    Pros

Excellent products, very big territories (lots of opportunities for sales).

    Cons

They have no clue how to manage sales reps and repeatedly re-hire former employees into higher level or leadership positions. Also discontinued 401k match because they supposedly aren't making a profit, yet they are buying up companies in cash.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Organic sales team growth.

Great for entry level but money is terrible and advancement non existent.

I have been working at State Industrial Products

    Pros

Flexible hours, great place to cut your teeth in sales.

    Cons

You can easily lose money working here. You pay for your own gas/wear and tear on your vehicle, (w/expenses based on sales). Family owned, no advancement opportunities, money is horrendous (6+ years with company and expected salary is about $30k). Have to sell $150k to keep insurance after 3 years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you continue to not offer a small stipend ($1000/mo. will go a long way) you will continue to lose your seasoned reps after they lose $ after 18 months and then you have that huge turnover problem you all worry so about. Who cares about Cancun, we just want to work and make a decent wage. Would you work for $30 after 3 years (that is the projection they offer) on the job paying for your own gas and retirement?!
