Pros

They are a great place to use as a stepping stone. You do not have to work all that hard if that is the type of work you are looking for.

Cons

People are lazy and management tends to do nothing about it except give more work to the hard workers yet everyone is paid the same.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give people that actually try and work hard an incentive to stick around, a 2% raise when the compensation already horrendous is basically a slap in the face.

I have been working at State Street

    Pros

    -benefits package is good
    -vacation time is decent
    -the people are awesome
-the Kansas City location is in a decent part of town
-flextime and work from home are available in some departments

    Cons

-the pay is much lower than the industry norm
-lots and lots of outsourcing so job security is not necessarily there as your department may move to india.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on retaining employees. Pay them more and respect them, and you will lower the cost of training, have happier employees, and better efficiency (so you won't need as many employees). It's definitely a way to cost savings as well as happier employees.
