I have been working at State Street full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

State Street is great place to start for those who have little or no experience. You will learn quite a bit from the type of work you do. You have opportunities to seek different a position or a promotion in other departments.

    Cons

Pay is very low. You will be very busy.Turnover is high. The work that you may not be related to what you learn in school. The company moved from client-based to function-based. This yields repetitive daily work and less learning opportunities .You used to learn much more when you do much more for the client.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I encourage management to create easier learning opportunities by allowing employees to work in other departments temporarily from time to time. Currently, the only way to work in another department is to apply for an opening position and goes through an interview process.
