I worked at State Street full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

The best part of working for State Street is the managers are almost always people who not only excel at their job but are excellent with people skills. They try to get the most out of all of the talent that they have, by being accommodating to their employees.

Cons

The biggest con for State Street is that they do not have competitive salaries. The rest of the industry pays not just better, but generally much better than State Street.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Advice for upper management would be to work with HR to create more defined carreer paths for employees that demonstrate excellence in their job. Also to increase the pay in general, they lose a lot of good employees to competiors for simple financial reasons.

I have been working at State Street full-time

    Pros

Work from home twice a week
Can arrange your own time schedule
Overtime doesn't need to be approved
People are okay to work with

    Cons

    No cafeteria
Managers are clueless and not knowledgeable
Avp's and vp's cover this up
Managers, avp's and vp's give you ALOT OF WORK.
    Stressful at times

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who are knowledgeable not because of their time in the company. Also associates have a lot of workload that managers should help out. They should also learn how to prepare because if they don't how do they know what they're reviewing ?

I have been working at State Street full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

can work from home occasionally, good work/life balance

    Cons

you cant live anywhere near their location because of industry low pay, results in long days traveling to and from work. so many entry level workers it seems very hard to be recognized and no chance of promotion or raise until 1+ year at minimum.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Incentivize workers and pay a more reasonable starting salary.
