Pros

Great starter job that does reward top performers (contrary to a lot of the other posts). Big name company that looks great on your resume. Will gain lots of industry knowledge.

Cons

90% percent of the promotions go to the top 10% of the employees. If you can't handle working long hours, dont work here. I typically average 53-60 hours a week, and have been ever since working at a staff level.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Revamp performance reward program to help motivate the remaining 90% of the employees. Pay OT to all levels below VP.

    Pros

Knowledge gained in the industry. Co-Workers are respectful and willing to help with any issue or problem.

    Cons

Poor compensation and recognition. Work/Life balance is promoted by the Corporate HR but not implemented by management. It is expected to work 10 hour days or you are considered not a high performer.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage open communication and ensure confidentiality. Staff are fearful of bringing negative issues forward for fear of retaliation and/or being labeled as a problem. Compensation packages should be reviewed and comparable to competitors.
